The title of my blog was inspired by the March 27th entry in The Book of Awakening,
by Mark Nepo. I had received the book as a gift from my good friend,
Chris Furlong. Chris inspires me because she is at peace with herself
and her purpose in life, no matter the challenge that she has in front
of her. Her spirit has grabbed a hold of me and will not let go, for
which I am extremely grateful.
In the interest of full disclosure, I did not read the entire book when Chris gave it to me. I only read certain entries. So when another good friend and the best voice teacher a person could ever have, Doree Du Toit, told me she wanted to read something to me before my lesson and walked in with The Book of Awakening, you better believe I was paying attention. Things like that don't happen by accident. She proceeded to read the March 27th entry, "We Are Born Singing". It inspired me to write a poem.

The poem describes the struggle I have had throughout my life to share my innermost thoughts. It is a struggle I continue with today, but with awareness the slow process of transformation has begun. This blog is another step in that process. I welcome your comments and any thoughts you might have about any of the poems I will post in the blog.
